SSP Silver Knight Lab Sweet burrs feature a custom geometry design, similar to the burrs found in the Ditting 807 Lab Sweet. They're engineered to deliver an optimal particle size spread within the grounds to achieve a consistent extraction and more sweetness.

Made from cast steel and have a DLC (diamond-like carbon coating), they have an increased lifespan. The low coefficient of DLC coating makes for low retention and keeps the sweetness of your coffee. These burrs really shine when brewing pour-overs and can also be used for espresso. 

What are SSP burrs?

SSP Grinding Solution has created a premium burrset that is specifically designed for use with specialty coffee. The burrset has a 64mm diameter size and is made of cast steel and ground using CBM diamond wheel, similar to the Ditting Lab Sweet burrs. The custom geometry and unique top and bottom design of these burrs are typically only found in high-end grinders. These burrs ensure optimal particle size spread within the grounds, resulting in a consistent extraction and more sweetness inside the cup.

Are SSP burrs worth it?

SSP Grinding Solution burrs are considered to be worth it by many coffee enthusiasts, as they are said to produce a more consistent grind, last longer, and have better features than other types of burrs. However, they are also more expensive than other types of burrs, so it ultimately depends on the individual's budget and priorities.

Seasoning coffee burrs

These SSP Silver Knight burrs are pre-treated and do not require seasoning like other burrs. It may take a little bit longer for them to be coated with coffee oils (5-10kg) but you don't need to grind 10lbs of rice before using them! SSP guarantees that there will be no chipped edges or damaged edges which can cause poor consistency and a short lifespan in regular burrs.
